the applicant are required to fall under the following categories
- 1. We expect that participants in the AGS-AM 2010 Student Project are motivated students who are seeking for the sustainable future in the world. Participants are expected to gain knowledge, experiences and exposure in the academic fields of sustainability and take initiatives to come up with suggestions and positive actions for the sustainable development in the world community.
- 2. The title of this student initiative is “Growing Asian Cities: Structuring Sustainability Problems.” Thus, participants in this Student Project must be aware of and should have a keen interest in sustainability issues in Asia. At the end of the Student Project, participants are expected to contribute in the process of identifying possible solutions for the various issues in Asian context.
- 3. As our Student Project focuses on Asian countries and their sustainability issues, we give priorities for students from Asian countries to participate in the conference. Students from non-Asian countries will be requested to report experiences in the AGS-AM 2010 Student Project to the world’s student network.
- 4. Participants are expected to utilize their experiences from this project when they are back in their countries and to continue their sustainability initiatives in their students clubs or any other activities. Participants are expected to keep contacts with other participants in other parts of the world, including the Asian network, in order to enhance the global communications in sustainability fields.
- 5. Especially from those who get the travel fund, we request to prepare for presentations of their countries during the conference (most probably at the beginning). Other participants are also expected to get familiar with the Asian countries to be discussed in the workshop. We would provide you a resource package with necessary basic information on concerned countries and their problems.
- 6. Once back in their countries, participants need to submit summary reports about the Student Project. Formats and deadline will be informed during the conference.
Those who are accepted to the Student Project must register for the AGS-AM itself. Some meals during the conference period will be prepared by the AGS-AM 2010 organizers. Successful candidates to the AGS-AM 2010 Student Project will be notified later how to register to the AGS-AM itself.
